About Me

I am married to my queen of the forest, Kimberly. We have been married since 2000. She is strong and wise and gentle and beautiful. She has taught me so much about God and the Universe and about who I am. We have two amazing daughters, Grey and Violet. They are independent and smart and so pretty. They are so alike, and even more so, they are so very different from one another.

I love trail running, hiking, camping, and swimming. I grew up at the beach, but feel more at home in the mountains. I read a lot. Most of it has to do with ancient near eastern thought and history. I rarely read novels, but when I do, it’s super fun.

I teach Public Speaking as well as Communication + Religion at Appalachian State University.

I host the Things About Things Podcast.

I am also a Real Estate Agent and Vacation Rental Property Manager.
